Post How Much Do You See at F1s

 by Helen891 on Fri Aug 15, 2008 1:23 pm

Hi
I'm new to this site and was thinking of making a trip to see one of the GPs that are fairly close to home (say within 4 hours flying distance) during the 2009 season?

I just wondered if any members could give me some idea of how much you see when you are at a GP. GPs have TV screens but clearly you don't see as much as you do on the TV and I wondered if any circuits were better than others.

Any advice most welcome.
Thanks
Helen

At the circuits I understand that you could hire a kangaroo TV so you can keep up to date with all the goings on during the race. Obviously you see less during a race, I've never actually been to a race so I don't know exactly how much you see but it's seats on the straights where the cars just blast past will have a bad view; places where there are lots of corners in a tight section means that you may not see an F1 car going really fast but you will probably see overtaking. Good luck in seeing a race and you can find out more about the kangaroo TVs on kangaroo.tv (Apologies if this response is rubbish but I have had a bit to drink.)

Ive been to silverstone before and sat at the abbey chicane.. to be honest you dont really see all that much at most cirucits, but it really depends on where you are seated or standing. As F1-Fan said above the best place would be a circuit that has a bit of a complex (somewhere like hockenheim) as you will see much more of the cars... but mainly you rely on the tv screens that are placed in various locations :)

I've only been to the races ones... not even sure if it was F1 because my fried
had gotten online ticket and treated me to a day out.
it was an amaizing experience,, the sound of the cars racing by is exciting even though I was far from being a fan at that point.
so you don't get to see the drivers from up close, but if you like racing on TV you should go at least once.
